Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: August 23, 2026

Big Read Macon County is committed to making its website, programs, events, and resources accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

Big Read Macon County is an initiative of the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation, in partnership with Three Link Media and NowDecatur.com. The initiative is supported through the NEA Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.

Accessibility is an important part of the NEA Big Read program. Arts Midwest specifically encourages participating organizations to consider the needs of people with disabilities when developing community outreach and programming.

Our Commitment

We strive to make the Big Read Macon County website accessible and usable for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Website Accessibility

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. Although we strive to make the website accessible, some third-party content, older documents, embedded content, or materials provided by outside organizations may not immediately meet all accessibility standards.

When we become aware of an accessibility barrier, we will make reasonable efforts to address it.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time project. Big Read Macon County will continue to evaluate its website, digital materials, events, and community programming and look for ways to improve access and participation.

Our goal is for everyone in Macon County to have the opportunity to participate in the shared reading experience and the conversations, creativity, and community connections it creates.
